As lithium batteries have become more abundant in the marketplace, so too have the competitors that aspire to the distinguished benchmark set by BSLBATT. Lithium golf cart batteries have been taking the world by storm since 2018! Don’t believe us? EZGO, Club Car and Yamaha now all offer their carts straight from the factory with golf cart battery lithium. Yes. And while these manufacturers still offer carts with traditional deep-cycle Lead Acid batteries, we see that getting phased out in the coming years. In this week’s blog, we’re taking a closer look at the features and benefits that place the BSLBATT golf cart battery lithium far ahead of the competition. We’ll take a deep dive into battery design, features, and what they mean to you in daily use. Launched in early 2018, our team set out with specific design criteria based on our analyses of where existing lithium batteries fell short and resolved not to bring a battery to market unless it satisfied every criterion. The resul...

Lithium ion technology is frequently being pushed into new frontiers, and those advancements are increasing our potential to live more environmentally-friendly and economically-savvy lives. Let’s take Tesla’s Powerwall, a lithium-ion home battery, for example. The product gained swift popularity and notoriety since it was announced in 2015, and now the first long-term user reviews are trickling in. The reviews are mixed when it comes to the product’s usability and financial opportunity, but one thing is universal: the product is a good idea. The Powerwall is a battery bank designed to store electricity from solar panels or other sources, and then act as an emergency power supply or an additional power source during peak electricity usage times — when using the power grid is expensive. Using lithium batteries to offset a consumer’s power demand isn’t a new concept—we offer that solution ourselves—but the availability of products like this can change how people interact with their ...

One of the hottest topics these days is alternative energy. With the ever-growing population increase, energy demand is also increasing every day. Non-renewable energy sources are limited and not friendly to the environment, and their increase or decrease in production can have a direct impact on inflation. On the other hand, alternative power sources are sustainable, renewable, environmentally friendly and, not to mention, abundant. Unlike fossil fuels, they are not going to expire soon as they are constantly replenished. But like fossil fuels, alternative energy sources also have had their own shortcomings. They are highly dependent on weather, and any significant atmospheric change can reduce its production. Though we are not in the best position to completely switch over to renewable energy anytime soon, getting a relatively good portion of our daily energy consumption from these sources can definitely have a positive impact on your finances and the environment. While the ene...

Many electric companies and co-ops across the U.S. are facing increasing challenges when it comes to meeting electricity demand on the grid. More and more utilities are changing to alternative rate structures such as time-of-use (TOU) pricing where the cost of electricity changes throughout the day to match demand. One reason for the rising popularity of time-of-use fee structures, in particular, is the need to balance energy usage throughout the day to ensure the reliability of the grid. EXAMPLE RATE SCHEDULE Most power companies using a time-of-use fee scale divide the day into peak, shoulder and off-peak segments. For example, a summer weekday might be divided as follows: ● Peak: 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ● Shoulder: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ● Off-peak: Remainder of the day In comparison, a winter weekday TOU schedule may look like this: ● Peak: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. ● Shoulder: 9:00 a.m. to noon, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ● Off-peak: Remainder of the day ...

The recent explosion at an Arizona energy storage facility renewed concerns about battery safety. The incident highlighted the need to educate regulators and lawmakers, a Sonnen official said the recent explosion at an Arizona battery storage facility that injured four firefighters has put a renewed spotlight on battery safety. While the cause of the April 19 incident at Arizona Public Service’s (APS) McMicken storage facility remains under investigation, the industry is trying to find the right balance between rapid expansion and safety. “The investigation will help us learn from what happened, so we can apply those lessons to our existing and future clean-energy projects,” Suzanne Trevino, spokeswoman for APS, told Utility Dive. The Phoenix-based utility is collaborating with first responders, manufacturers, third-party engineers and safety experts during its investigation. The original battery supplier at the Arizona facility was AES Energy Storage, which is...

The slender boat lurches forward, its four passengers clinging to the wooden deck as they surge past the Monaco skyline. For all its sculpted lines and awesome acceleration, the white cruiser wouldn’t be out of place with climate activist Greta Thunberg at the wheel, rather than the moneyed elite flocking to the principality in search of a new toy. “Such aggressive acceleration is only possible with electric drives,” says Peter Minder, as he commands the 250,000-euro ($277,000) boat built by his company Designboats.ch. Only the air stream and a high-pitched buzz from twin electric engines betray a speed of almost 30 miles per hour. “Our clients increasingly want to enjoy their maritime hobbies without emissions and noise. But they still want to have fun.” While electric cars are a realistic alternative to the century-old internal-combustion engine, the world’s waterways are dominated by ships that belch plumes of diesel exhaust and heavy fuel oil. But because of long life cycles ...

Recreational Vehicle Lithium Batteries BSLBATT Recreational Vehicle Lithium Batteries are trusted and used in hundreds of RV’s around the world. If you’re searching the worldwide market for the best Recreational Vehicle Lithium Batteries in the industry, we’re glad your here. Here are some of these reasons you might want to consider when upgrading to Lithium Batteries for your RV: The downsides of Lead Acid Batteries To understand why lithium batteries show such promise for replacement of lead batteries in motorhomes, it first helps to understand all the ways that traditional lead acid batteries fall short. Limited Usable Capacity It is typically considered wise to use just 30% – 50% of the rated capacity of typical lead acid batteries. This means that a 400 amp hour battery bank in practice only provides, at best, 200 amp hours of actual usable capacity. If you even occasionally drain the batteries more than this their life will be drastically cut short. Limi...
