On June 24, a factory fire occurred in Sinmyeon, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, a battery manufacturer ARICELL, which has attracted renewed attention to the safety of lithium batteries worldwide. It is reported that the fire was caused by the explosion of lithium thionyl chloride (Li/SOCl2) batteries inside the factory, killing more than 20 people, including 19 Chinese.
